Several heated hospitality lounges will be set up for visitors to relax in and enjoy an authentic Christmas Market beverage. These will include the traditional and famous Glühwein (mulled wine), many varieties of beer, and European Christmas cocktails including Hot Toddies.
Take the whole family to a matinee theater performance
There are a variety of productions to entertain you in Toronto during your urban vacation. For laughs, check out Peter Pan, the 20th Anniversary Family Musical, PANto-monium that runs from November 27th to January 3rd at the Elgin Theatre. Or for a more grown-up comedy, The Second City’s, Unwrapped, promises to cut through all the tinsel and get to the hilarious un-frosted truths about the holiday season. Matinee and evening performances run through January 1, 2016.
If you prefer something more classical, then Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella is playing at the Ed Mirvish Theatre from December 1st to January 10th. It may be just the ticket to entertain your little princes and princesses as it delights audiences with its contemporary take on the classic tale.
Learn and be inspired at Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada
Located in downtown Toronto, just next to the CN Tower, is Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada. The Aquarium is a perfect escape from the cold during your urban vacation. This attraction consists of nine carefully curated galleries showcasing a cross section of saltwater and freshwater environments from around the world. It starts with species from Toronto’s backyard, the Great Lakes basin.
